Why a Hydrogel solution?

Hey !

I have a question : Why we use a hydrogel solution and not a another gel ?

    The hydrogel solution is the solution that contains monomers that, when polymerized, form a hydrogel within the tissue. Hydrogels can be formed from several different types of monomers - in the case of CLARITY, a hydrogel made of acrylamide monomers is used. Acrylamide is ideal for CLARITY because it can be diffused into the tissue in its monomer form and then polymerized inside the tissue. It is a well-known hydrogel material (polymer that swells in water) and not responsive to environmental cues.
