0.3 mm Pt wire diameter

Hello everyone,
did somebody use smaller diameter in the Pt wire for the ETC?
Are there any disadvantages in 0.3 mm diameter Pt wire?

I used 0.3 mm wire with good results, brains were cleared after three days.
